Dataset settings

In a Supernova design system, you can create datasets that may share some similar tokens, components or assets, which which could be styled independently.

You can create and manage datasets in the Datasets section of your design system settings.

Enable multiple datasets

You can choose which design systems are enabled in your documentation in your Dataset settings. This is particularly useful if your company is composed of multiple datasets and design systems.

This setting is applied to each individual design system, not your workspace, so to use it in multiple design systems in your workspace, you’ll need to enable it in each design system individually.

To enable multiple datasets:

1. Beside Enable multiple datasets, toggle the switch to Yes.
2. In the dropdown, select the design systems from your workspace that you want included.
3. Publish your documentation to apply this setting.
4. Simply toggle the switch to No to disable it.

Create a new dataset

To create a new dataset:

1. Go to Design System settings → Datasets.
2. Click New dataset.
3. Enter a dataset name and optional description.
4. Click Create dataset to finish.

Edit or Delete a dataset

To edit the dataset details, or delete a dataset:

1. Hover on the relevant version row, and click ••• to open the context menu.
2. Click Edit details to open the Edit dataset dialog and make any changes required.
3. Click Delete dataset to open the delete dialog.
4. Type DELETE and click Delete dataset to permanently delete this dataset from your workspace.
