Files

Your organizational knowledge can be stored in a dedicated Files section at the workspace level. You can organize Files into folders, upload any file type, and connect them to contexts so agents can access them through MCP.

Files in Supernova include a description field. The description fields tells agents when and how they should use the file, so it’s worth filling out to optimize your context performance.

 

Upload a file

1. In your Supernova workspace, open Files.
2. Click Upload file.
3. Select the file you want to upload.
4. Choose an existing folder, or type a new folder path to create one during upload.
5. Confirm the upload.
6. Specify the file’s description in the file detail.

 

Organize files in folders

1. In your Supernova workspace, open Files.
2. Browse the folder tree to find the folder you want.
3. To move a file into another folder you can
1. drag the file into the folder to move it,
2. or use the “Move to” folder dropdown available in the file detail.

To create a new folder write a new folder path in the file’s path input.

 

Preview and edit a file

Text-based files can be previewed and edited directly in the file detail view.

1. In your Supernova workspace, open Files.
2. Select a text-based file.
3. Review the content in the code editor.
4. Edit the content as needed.
5. Save your changes.

 

Replace file content

1. In your Supernova workspace, open Files.
2. Open the file detail view.
3. Click Replace content.
4. Upload the new version of the file.
5. Confirm the replacement.

Replacing content keeps the file connected to the same contexts it was already linked to.

 

Delete a file

1. In your Supernova workspace, open Files.
2. Open the file detail view.
3. Click Delete.
4. Confirm the action.

 

Connect files to contexts

Files can be connected to contexts so agents can access them through MCP. Connected files are then distributed through that context using the MCP connection.

1. From the main navigation, open Contexts.
2. Open the context you want to configure.
3. In Workspace knowledge / Files, select the files you want to include.
4. Save your changes.

Note: Files are connected individually. Folder-level connection is not yet supported.
