Create a context

Get started with creating a new context.

Role: Editor+

Create a context

  1. In Supernova, open Contexts from the main navigation.
  2. Click New context.
  3. Enter a name. The name is used in the MCP URL slug — keep it short and descriptive.
  4. Configure your context:
    1. (Optional) Add other contexts as composition sources to inherit their selections automatically.
    2. Select which design system data to include (dataset, tokens, components, assets, token themes and documentation pages) and attach any workspace files or skills.
    3. Choose how to distribute the context — via MCP, Portal, or both.
  5. Click Publish context.

Rename a context

  1. Open the context.
  2. Click the context name at the top to edit it inline.
  3. Press Publish changes to save.

Archive a context

Archiving a context disables it across all distribution channels. The MCP endpoint becomes invalid and the context is no longer visible in Portal.

  1. Navigate to Contexts.
  2. Open the ••• menu for the context you want to archive, and select Archive.
