It’s manually curated and highly customizable, making it the best place to explain Do’s & Don’ts, edge cases, patterns, and the nuances behind your design system. Documentation acts as the knowledge backbone for AI-powered answers, so the richer your docs, the smarter your AI becomes.

How can I get access to Portal?
Portal needs to be enabled in the design system by an admin or owner. Once it’s enabled, the admin shares a link with a team, and every workspace member, regardless of seat, has access to the Portal.
Is Portal private?
Yes, Portal is a private and secure platform. Only logged-in users can access the application.
What platforms is Portal available on?
Portal is available on desktop web, and as desktop app for both MacOS and Windows.
Does Portal work offline?
Works offline: Browse Figma components, design tokens, assets, and design system components.
Requires internet connection: Figma component previews, downloading assets, Storybook stories, all AI features.
Usage
Can I use Portal with multiple design systems?
Yes, Portal supports multiple design systems. You need to enable each design system in Portal individually from Overview page, or Content section in Workspace settings.
Can I use Portal with multiple datasets?
Yes, Portal supports multiple datasets. You can configure which datasets to enable in Portal in Content section in Workspace settings.
Can I edit components directly in Portal?
No. Portal is for browsing and searching existing entities, not editing them.
AI features
What can Ask AI answer questions about?
Ask AI can answer questions about any connected design system data - components, tokens, assets, guidelines, and documentation across all your sources.
Can Ask AI access my private documentation?
Yes, if Ask AI is enabled, it can reference your connected documentation content to provide answers.
Does Portal train AI models on my data?
No. Portal uses AI to help you work with your data, but doesn't train models or modify your systems.
When exactly will my monthly AI credits renew?
Your monthly AI credits renew on the same day each month that you purchased your subscription. For example: yearly subscription purchased on February 17th = credits renew on the 17th of every month. To see your exact renewal date, hover over the info icon next to your monthly AI credits in your workspace (Settings / Billing).
Troubleshooting
Why can't I see my Figma/Storybook data in Portal?
Your data must first be connected through Supernova Cloud before it appears in Portal. Check that your integrations are active in the main application.
