Customize your Supernova app with themes

We’re so very excited to announce a new theming feature in the app, giving you the power to personalize your Supernova experience to your own preferences!

What’s new

  • Theme presets: Switch between multiple Light and Dark themes (or use System Preference to match your computer’s default setting).
  • More customization: Personalize primary elements such as the main accent color and background color.
  • Improved accessibility: Adjust contrast levels to reduce eye strain and improve accessibility.
  • Custom editor background: Optionally you can choose to always use a light background for the documentation editor.

We’ve listened to your feedback and understand that working in low-light or evening environments with the current Supernova interface can be challenging. This new feature makes the app more inclusive and comfortable, to help you focus on what matters without visual distractions.

How to get it

  1. Head to Settings → Profile to find the new section User interface theme.
  2. Choose a theme preset (3 light and 4 dark options), or choose System preference to sync the app appearance with your device settings.
  3. Optionally, further customize your app by choosing a custom main background color or accent color.
  4. Adjust contrast levels with the slider to improve visibility.

Render Figma URL in Figma images block

You asked and we listened — we’ve expanded the new streamlined Figma image rendering feature that was recently released for Image blocks. Now you can also render a Figma frame from a URL in Figma images blocks!

Now you can also add multiple images from a URL to the Figma images block from the Select image dialog. In the Current selection column of the dialog, you can view (and edit) which images are added to the block.

What’s new

  • Paste multiple Figma URLs to add them to the Figma images block.
  • Select an image from different methods in the same block if you need to — you can render by URL or select the image from a Figma data source.
  • Choose update Figma image in the block to refresh the image from its source.

We’ve already heard great feedback about how rendering Figma images by URL improves the overall user experience for Figma frames — we hope you’ll enjoy using this feature in the Figma images block as well!
