This version was released on July 9, 2024.
We’re thrilled to bring you the latest update to Supernova! In this release, we focused on further improving your ability to collaborate on your design system documentation and govern how contributions are published.
Documentation drafts & selective publishing
We’re introducing documentation drafts so teams can better control what gets published. You can even selectively publish specific sections of your documentation, so only the pages that are ready to go will be shared with your design system consumers. Now, you don’t have to hide work-in-progress pages anymore!
Creating a new page or editing an existing one will turn the page into a draft. As you’re updating a page, if you decide you don’t like the changes you’ve made, you can undo them by selecting Discard changes.
When you’re ready to publish, the dialog shows all changes and where they’re made. Select the changes you want to push live.
When you delete a page (either a new draft or an existing page that’s already been published), it’ll also show up in the dialog as Deleted. You can restore the page if you deleted it on accident. Keep in mind that if you select and publish the change, the deletion of that page will be permanent.
Inline comments
We launched comments & notifications in the documentation editor in May, and we’re excited to share that you can now create inline comments on specific parts of the text, which will be highlighted for everyone else to see.
Simply highlight the text and click on the comment icon. You can also make multiple comments on different parts of a paragraph. This makes it much easier for your team to understand exactly which part of the copy you’re talking about.
Write your comment, post it, and voila, your inline comment is visible to all!
As always, you can find additional tweaks and fixes in our bug fixes list.
