New MCP block in documentation

Put a Connect button on any docs page, so readers can add your design system to their AI tool without leaving it.

Released September 2, 2026

Until now, connecting an AI tool to your design system meant leaving the docs to find the MCP URL and setup steps.

The new MCP block puts that setup on the page itself. A reader clicks Connect, signs in, and their agent can start working with your design system.

mcp block

Put it where engineers already look

Add the block to your getting started page for engineers, for example. A developer reading it can connect Cursor from that page, and from then on their agent looks up your current tokens, components, and guidelines while they code.

Choose what readers connect to

By default, the block uses Supernova's main MCP URL (mcp.supernova.io/mcp), and readers pick a design system or a Context when they sign in.

To give one team a scoped setup, point the block to a specific Context instead. Readers then connect straight to that Context, so their agent only sees the docs, tokens, and skills you put in it.

Who can connect

Supernova MCP is in public beta. Readers sign in with their Supernova account, and what they can reach depends on their role in your workspace. Viewers get read-only access to Contexts. See MCP 101 for the full breakdown.

Connection options

Readers can connect directly in Cursor or VS Code, copy setup steps for Claude or Codex, or use the MCP URL or config snippet for another tool. You choose which options the block shows, and you can change its title and description. With one option, the block shows a single button. With several, readers pick the one they need.
