Create collaborative prototypes
In Portal, Create is your team’s central workspace for building and validating solutions.
With Create, you can:
- Build prototypes with real design tokens and themes to always stay on brand
- Create projects for specific features or initiatives.
- Write PRDs, specs, and release notes directly alongside to your prototypes.
- Collaborate in real time across disciplines — PMs, designers, and engineers working in one environment.
- Export or hand off your work through MCP (Model-Code Pipeline), reusing prototype code and documents to speed up delivery.
In short, Create is your solution discovery hub, where you can explore and validate solutions, and prepare everything for implementation.

Setting up Portal
- Connect at least one data source to your design system.
- Make sure AI features are enabled*.
- If any of the items has a Disabled label with the Settings button next to it, you can use this button to navigate to settings and enable the feature you want to use in Portal: Browse, Ask or Create.
All done! You can now access Portal and share it with your team.
Browser vs Desktop app
You can prototype and collaborate in either the browser or the desktop app. Everything stays the same: your workspaces, projects, prototypes and documents. All collaboration features are available in both, and you can switch anytime.
The desktop app can be especially handy if you want to stay focused. It’s a true desktop experience with native tabs, so you can keep Portal as a dedicated workspace instead of juggling browser tabs.
The desktop app is currently available only for Mac.
