We're SOC 2 compliant!

This version was released on June 22, 2023.

This is possibly one of our most exciting announcements ever: we've achieved SOC 2 Type II certification!

SOC 2 Type II certification

We've gone through the rigorous testing, auditing and have been working our SOCs off (sorry, we couldn't resist) to achieve our SOC 2 Type II certification, and we passed with flying colors.

What is SOC 2?

A SOC 2 (which stands for 'System and Organization Controls') report shows how a company keeps systems and data secure. It defines rigorous criteria for managing customer data based on five essential "trust service principles" — security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

It's the gold standard when it comes to data security and privacy, and it's a huge deal especially for our enterprise customers.

Supernova achieved SOC 2 certification by:

  • Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of Supernova's controls
  • Conducting thorough examinations of vendor and third-party security
  • Establishing comprehensive policies to ensure ongoing protection for customers and employees

We also implemented Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality, we support Okta integration (a leading identity provider) and we're fully compliant with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) alongside General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

It essentially means we've got top-notch security practices in place, we're super serious about keeping your data safe, and we're consistent about it (that's what the 'Type II' part means). You can trust that your data is in safe hands, and focus on what you do best.

You can read more about it in our blog post. Thanks for celebrating this achievement with us!

General improvements

  • We improved the annoying popover behavior when publishing your docs. The Publish popover now disappears once you trigger the new documentation build, and the bottom popover disappears after clicking on the Open page button.
  • We increased the limit of concurrent invitations on Team tab to 100 invitations at once. This works for Team+ plans.

Bugfixes

  • Published docs now display the alias of the themed token's value in your published docs!
  • We resolved the issue which resulted in getting a temporary {"ok": true} error screen after logging in into Docs.
  • Your docs URL no longer needs to include /latest in order to work.
  • We resolved issues which resulted in token overrides not synchronising properly through CLI for specific kinds of tokens.
  • Documentation deployment in case of workspace with the same handle as design system no longer fails to publish.
  • It's now possible to import tokens and theme overrides through Tokens Studio by using brand name.
  • Fixed an issue which resulted in an inability to remove team members in the case of cancelled workspace.

That's it for this release, and we'll be back with more soon. As always, if you'd like to see something new, fixed, or improved, join our Discord community — we're always there. You can also request a feature via our Feature Request Portal. Thanks for your support!
