Keyboard shortcuts

A list of keyboard shortcuts that can be used in the documentation editor.

Use our keyboard shortcuts to quickly and easily navigate through the documentation editor and the blocks within it.


Selection shortcuts

arrow keys

Move cursor.

shift + left/right arrows

Expand text selection left or right.

shift + up/down arrows

Expand text selection up or down.

cmd or ctrl + a

From a selected block, select all blocks on page.

Text block shortcuts

enter

Insert a line of text.

shift + enter

Create a line break within a block of text.

del or backspace

Delete selected text.

cmd or ctrl + c

Copy selected text.

cmd or ctrl + x

Cut selected text.

cmd or ctrl + v

Paste selected text.

cmd or ctrl + b

Make selected text bold.

cmd or ctrl + i

Make selected text italic.

cmd or ctrl + shift + s

Make selected text strikethrough.

cmd or ctrl + e

Make selected text inline code.

tab

Nest content.

shift + tab

Unnest content.

double click

Select a word.

Table block shortcuts

tab

Navigate to the next cell.

When in the last cell of a row, navigate to the first cell in the next row.

When in the last cell of a table, create a new row, or press tab again to dismiss and exit table.

shift + tab

Navigate to the previous cell.

esc

Move focus up a level.

In a selected cell:

Move focus to to that cell and type text.

del or backspace

Remove contents from the cell.

cmd or ctrl + c

Copy text.

cmd or ctrl + x

Cut text.

cmd or ctrl + v

Paste text.

arrows

Move selection in a direction.

All blocks

esc

Clear the block selection menu.

del or backspace

Delete selected blocks.

cmd or ctrl + d

Duplicate selection blocks.
