Importing from Figma

Import design system data from Figma.

Here are some of the issues you could run into when importing data. Luckily, they're all quick and easy to solve.

Error: Nothing was imported

null

You'll see this error message if no styles or components exist in the file. To fix this:

  • Check you're importing from the correct file.
  • Check the file contains the styles and components you want to import.

Error: The file hasn't been published

null

Your Figma file needs to be published as a library before Supernova can import anything from it.

To fix this:

Error: No styles or collections could be found

null

This error occurs when Supernova can't find any styles in your Figma file.

To fix this:

  • Republish the file if styles have been added recently.
  • Double check the styles you want to import are in the file.

Error: Some styles were not imported because they're not used in the file

null

This error means that certain styles aren't used in the file. You can see which styles exactly int he error message.

To fix this:

  • Apply the styles to any element in the file. Republish the file, and import again.

Error: Supernova couldn't access the file

null

This means that Supernova has somehow lost the connection with the file.

To fix this:

  • Check the file still exists.
  • Authorize Figma again.
