You can easily manipulate content blocks on the editor interface using the following actions.
Convert to a different block type
To change a block type from one style to another, for example, to convert text into a header:
- Click to select the block you would like to convert.
- In the property panel, select the type you would like to convert to.
Move a block
You can move blocks in a number of different ways.
First, you can click and drag the dots icon to move the block to a different line.
You can also drag to select, or copy and paste.
Or, you can use the menu to move a block up or down.
Drag to select blocks
You can select single or multiple blocks in the editor by click in the empty whitespace around them (still in the editor screen) and dragging your mouse over the desired blocks to select them.
Copy and paste blocks
It's currently possible to copy content blocks, and paste them within the Supernova documentation editor.
To do so, select one or multiple blocks, and type command-C on a Mac, or Ctrl-C on a Windows computer to copy. Alternatively, use Copy from the Actions panel.
Then, navigate to where you'd like to add this content. Click the area in the editor, and type command-V on a Mac, or Ctrl-V on a Windows computer to paste. Alternatively, use Paste from the Actions panel.
Blocks: quick actions
When you have a block (or multiple blocks) selected, you can use quick actions to efficiently work with them.
To use quick actions:
- At the bottom of any block property panel, you'll see a row of actions. Click the arrow icon at the end of the row to expand the actions panel.
- Click whatever action you want to achieve from the panel. It will immediately be applied to the block (or blocks) you have selected.
Editing content within blocks
Block content can usually be edited within the block itself, or within the property panel specific to that block. You can learn more about this for each block type in their individual documentation pages — check out Types of blocks to quickly find the one you're looking for.
